Luxury industry – Leather goods

Craftsmanship

Sofame boasts almost 20 years of experience in the luxury leather goods sector and has a solid understanding of the constraints specific to this manufacturing activity.

Craftspeople create high quality items from leather and other often valuable skins. This work demands a high level of care and the skins must never be scratched by anything in the workplace. The workstation and related accessories form part of this environment and are created in such a way as to ensure there are no harsh edges that might damage the skin while it is being worked.

The leather piece transfer and supply trolleys must meet the same requirements in order to protect the materials and finished products.

Many tools are required when making leather goods, meaning that they need suitable storage and mounts within easy reach.

Workplace comfort

The high quality of manufactured luxury leather goods requires constant lighting levels with the right colour, luminosity and angle to enable the craftsperson to clearly see the details of the pieces they are assembling as well as the finish on those pieces, so they can perform accurate assembly work.

The varying sizes of small and other leather goods made, such as gloves, luggage, shoes and saddles, means that craftspeople need to be set up in optimal working conditions to prevent any strain or MSD. The workstation must be adjusted to a height that provides the craftsperson with the best position. Electric height-adjustable workstations are the ideal solution to this issue.

Similarly, sewing work requires a seat that is both durable and ergonomic so the sewer can produce quality work under the most comfortable conditions possible.

Sofame regularly finds effective solutions for the many other constraints.
